I'm a bilingual tutor with a degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and professional engineering experience at Pratt & Whitney, where I applied the same math and physics principles I now teach. My teaching method and techniques
I keep things laid back... no lectures, no pressure to just spit out the right answer. My focus is always on making sure you actually get the concept, because once that clicks, the right answers follow on their own. I ask a lot of "why" and "how did you get there" questions instead of just checking if the final number is correct, that's usually where the real learning (and the real gaps) show up. I'll use analogies, real examples, and sometimes just talk through a problem out loud with you, the way I'd want someone to explain it to me.
A typical lesson
Every school teaches things a little differently, so I don't come in with a rigid template, I like to adapt to whatever your class, textbook, or teacher is actually covering. That said, a typical session usually looks like: quick check-in on what's confusing or what homework/test is coming up, working through a few problems together (with me asking you to explain your thinking, not just showing you mine), then wrapping up with a couple of practice problems you tackle solo so we can see what's actually sticking.
What sets me apart
I'm a young guy, not too far removed from being a student myself, so I get what it's actually like sitting in these classes — the current events, the stress, the "why does this even matter" feeling. I'm also bilingual, so I can explain things in Spanish or English, whichever makes it click. And I try to make learning genuinely enjoyable, not just tolerable — I love sports and science, so I'll connect concepts to stuff you're actually interested in when I can.
Who this is for
I mainly work with high school students, who are struggling and need things broken down differently than how they're being taught in class and to students who are doing fine but want that extra practice to really solidify things. I've been there myself, so I know struggling with a subject, it usually just means it hasn't been taught to you from another perspective.
