About Sera

If I talk about my background briefly, after studying abroad for 15 years, I graduated from Bilkent University English Language and Literature and completed my pedagogical training education from Istanbul University English Language Teaching Department. I have taught at a private international kindergarten alongside working at English courses for adults, so I have experience for different age groups. As difficult as it may seem, learning a language can actually be easy and fun with the right methods of learning. As someone who has experienced language education both abroad and in Turkey, I can identify some weak points and difficulties encountered and methods and tricks that will facilitate learning. As someone who has always been passion for teaching, I want to motivate and share my knowledge and techniques with everyone who is interested :)

About the lesson

I teach my lessons very differently from rote-based education that we see in many schools because I think the most important elements of language learning include the learning goal, motivation, interests and how the language benefits us in our daily life. Our lessons include lots of conversation and each lesson is prepared according to a specific daily theme (Popular culture, film/music, shopping, travel, weather, funny stories, sports, animals, etc.) and grammatical topics are explained within this theme. However, if you need help preparing for exams such as YDS, Toefl , I can conduct the courses with the book. I personally design the activities and themes according to the student's age, level, and interests. I do my classes online, but for those living near Ataşehir, I can arrange them at home or in the park/garden in fine weather. The first lesson is for demo and introduction purposes and I do not charge any fee. Please contact for further questions. :)
