About Kevin
Hi, I'm a Biochemistry graduate from the University of Oxford and will be starting a PhD in Chemistry this September.
Having gone through GCSEs, A-levels, university applications, and university study myself, I understand both the academic challenges students face and the strategies that can help them succeed. I achieved nine Grade 9s at GCSE and three A*s at A-level, and I enjoy helping students build confidence in subjects that can often seem intimidating at first.
Whether you're aiming to improve a grade, achieve top marks, or prepare for university applications, my goal is to make difficult concepts accessible and help you develop the skills needed to succeed independently.
I offer tutoring primarily for GCSE and A-level STEM subjects, as well as support with university applications and personal statements.

My approach to tutoring is to adapt lessons to the individual goals and learning style of each student. Some students are aiming to pass an exam or improve a particular grade, while others are targeting top marks or preparing for university applications. I tailor lessons accordingly, whether that means focusing on core concepts, exam technique, problem-solving skills, or exploring topics in greater depth beyond the syllabus.
For STEM subjects in particular, I believe understanding the underlying concepts is more valuable than memorising facts or methods. My lessons therefore focus on building intuition and confidence before reinforcing learning through worked examples and exam-style questions.
A typical lesson lasts one hour, although longer sessions can be arranged if desired, particularly closer to exams.
Lessons are primarily aimed at GCSE and A-level students studying STEM subjects, including Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and related disciplines. I am also happy to provide support with university applications, including personal statements and admissions preparation.
