Hi, my name is Caroline! I’m currently completing the last few credits for my biochemistry degree from the University of San Diego; I’m able to do so from home, however, due to USD’s prolonged virtual learning period during Covid. I started professionally tutoring when I was working as a nanny. I have tutored kids as young as kindergarten in phonics and language basics to building foundational math skills, up to ACT/SAT test prep and AP high school calculus BC (equivalent to Calculus 2). I am proficient in Spanish (completed fluency component at USD, and graduated AP Spanish 5 in the Spanish National Honors Society), have published (by ACS, the American Chemistry Society) Biochemistry research on the structure and subsequent function of modified DNA (diethyl-cytosine on 10 base DNA sequence), along with multiple other related credentials. I also scored above a 30+ on the ACT with a perfect score of 36 in reading comprehension and writing. I have also worked with several children with various types of learning disabilities and/or differences: children on the autism spectrum, kids with speech/communication delays, and other forms of special needs. Before narrowing my education to STEM, I graduated high school with 19+ AP and Honors courses on the honor roll, ranging from AP Literature and AP English Language Arts to AP Physics and AP Calculus. I’m happy to provide any references and/or other documentation. I’m also fully vaccinated and boosted. I also have background in Microsoft programs (word, excel, PowerPoint, etc), ADOBE pdf editing, and the fundamentals of JAVA coding. I’m also able to provide references for my tutoring history and results. Working with students is a passion of mine and I’d love the opportunity to work with you and your family!
