About Maya
I have a great deal of experience in tutoring a wide range of ages, and I prioritize connecting with my students. As a current biochemistry student, I apply many of the concepts we would cover together on a regular basis. I am also a graduate of the IB program, where I took Math, Chemistry and Biology at higher level.

I am a 3rd year biochemistry student at university, looking to teach biology, chemistry and math at a middle school or high school level. I have offered tutoring in these subjects for my peers, as well as younger students, since I was in high school myself, and I find it extremely rewarding to watch someone grasp material they've been struggling with.
As a tutor, I would help my students with questions, exercises and difficult chapters from their classes at school. I can also introduce new topics, explain them from as many angles as needed, and provide practice problems for us to work through together to help the student acquire ease and comfort with the material.
I enjoy these subjects a great deal, and it would be important to me that my students properly understand what is being taught rather than simply memorizing it, so teaching students how systems and topics connect would be a priority.
