About Grace
Hi! My name is Grace Huang and I am a current student at UCLA majoring in biochemistry. I have worked as a tutor for around half a year, teaching math at Think Zone. Furthermore, I have been working with kids for around three years, teaching free art lessons through a nonprofit! Throughout my schooling, I have especially grown interested in STEM subjects because they teach us how the world works; how else will we understand why our bodies function the way they do?
As a student and a teacher, I understand the struggles of both learning a subject and teaching it. Especially STEM subjects, where grasping a topic is different between each individual. Thus, as a tutor, I want to offer productive 1 on 1 sessions where my teaching approach is tailored to the student's needs.

All lessons are customized to the student's preferences. With background information about the student's academic history and struggles with specific topics in class, I will personalize a lesson plan for parents and students to review. If students/parents have any concerns with the lesson plan, I will change it accordingly.
For classes including problem solving (math: calculus, statistics), lessons will include active problem solving, first encouraging students to attempt problems, then walking them through it. For classes that include a lot of material (biology, chemistry etc.), each lesson will begin with a short lesson before applying that knowledge to frqs/mcqs. These lessons are for middle schoolers and high schoolers. All STEM topics are welcome: math up to calculus BC, biology, chemistry.
