About Sara

Hi! I am Sara and I am currently studying Bioengineering at university. My background? A science and mathematics track in secondary education, followed by training in the fascinating world of life sciences. This demanding program has given me a solid foundation in several sciences such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology. I tutor primary school students (grades 1 to 6) and secondary school students. I have learned a lot, sometimes with tears, trial and error, and I have discovered that science can become truly fascinating when explained well. That unique feeling, that spark that ignites when you finally understand something and think: "Aha, I get it!", is one of the greatest satisfactions I have experienced as a student. And I want to give that feeling to my students as well. Whether you are struggling with the material, want to improve, or just want to work ahead, I am happy to help you. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with friends, fellow students, but also with strangers outside the school walls. Because I believe that knowledge is meant to be passed on, and that everyone deserves their own path to success. Are you looking for personal and human guidance? Then I would love to help you move forward, at your own pace, and together with you, you will discover that science can be much more fun than it sometimes seems. Feel free to send a message! I look forward to meeting you and embarking on this adventure together! Sara

I always start from what the student already knows to build new knowledge. My method rests on 3 pillars: -Understanding before memorization: I explain the 'why' behind each concept so that the student can reason independently. -Visual and concrete: I use drawings, colors, examples from everyday life, and practical applications to make the theory lively and accessible. -Mistakes as a learning tool: I do not correct by immediately providing the solution. I guide the student in their reasoning so that they learn to recognize their own mistakes and understand how to avoid them in the future. A typical lesson proceeds in 4 steps: 1. Review of the previous lesson: Checking the material, repeating the key points, and answering any questions. (active recall!) 2. Theory and explanation: Introduction of new material with diagrams, concrete examples adapted to the student's level. 3. Guided exercises: The student applies the theory with my guidance. 4. Independent exercises and conclusion: The student practices independently on one or two exercises to consolidate the material. I conclude with a summary of the key points and may assign a small task for next time. Who are my lessons intended for? My lessons are aimed at primary school students, as well as secondary school students, from the 1st to the 6th year, including all streams. I offer guidance in the following subjects: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, botany, etc. Whether your child is struggling with the material, wants to prepare for an exam, or simply wants to deepen their knowledge, I adapt to their needs.
