About Billy
I have tutored students in science and math on and off for almost 10 years. I now have my Master's Degree in Biology along with a Bachelor's in both Biology and Psychology. As a Master's student, I worked one-on-one with students during my office hours helping them gain a better grasp upon the material. Since I have graduated, I worked as a substitute 7th grade math teacher at Mills Park Middle School. At Mills Park, I helped students achieve outstanding scores on their first exam. I worked as a tutor in high school and helped a friend of mine increase their pre-algebra grade from a C to a B.

I am a Scientist with hopes soon to become a certified Science teacher. I would love to teach science or math to any grade level and even into the university level. My technique when tutoring students is to allow the student to come upon the answer themselves. I believe that the students can solve the problem on their own, I am only there to guide them to the right answer, and help them gain confidence in their own abilities. My teaching philosophy is that all students have the capability to learn and succeed, and it is the responsibility of the teacher to provide the students with an ample amount of resources to connect with the material. I believe that when students connect with the material they can truly understand it in a way that they were unable to before. This is why I search for new, innovative ways for students to connect with the material.
