Biology Graduate with a focus on Cell Biology and Organic Chemistry (great for pre-professional examinations!)
Methodology
Hello! I am a recent Biology graduate from the University of the Incarnate Word. I currently work at UIW as a science tutor with a focus in entry level Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Organic Chemistry. I love for my tutees to utilize the vocabulary and usually have them run the session as they sharpen their science jargon. For many of these subjects, we will utilize a white board and will rely on concept mapping to explain the course material.
Background
My passion for teaching started as early as 2011 working with the Summer Winning Program for pre-primer to second grade students. This phonics based program utilized Sue Dickson's Read, Sing, Spell and Write program and I am a certified user. In 2013 I moved to San Antonio and worked with Incarnate Word High School after-school education program and mainly focused on English-as-a-second language as well as Biology and English. Currently, I work as a University tutor for the University of the Incarnate Word and I work alongside the tutoring services program as well as the school of Math, Science and Engineering to set up group study sessions and exam review sessions. These weekly sessions have been a successful program that I am blessed to have been a contributor.
