About Nicolas
I am a senior at Northwestern University majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry and French, and I bring both strong academic training and hands-on teaching experience to my tutoring.
As a peer leader for Northwestern’s Academic Support and Learning Advancement Center, I guide students through challenging coursework—especially in organic chemistry—by helping them break down complex material into clear, manageable concepts.
I also have experience as a clinical research assistant in the emergency department, which has strengthened my ability to think critically, communicate clearly, and stay patient and adaptable in high-pressure situations.

My approach to tutoring is centered on building deep understanding rather than memorization. I aim to meet students where they are, identify gaps in their knowledge, and help them develop the confidence and problem-solving skills needed to succeed independently.
A typical session:
1. Quick check-in/review of previous material or problem areas
2. Conceptual teaching of new material, focusing on clarity and intuition
3. Guided practice, where we work through problems together
4. Independent practice, allowing the student to apply what they’ve learned
