About Erin
I am a first year Plant Sciences student at The University of Edinburgh, so I am not much older than you. I remember the stress and worry exams can cause, after only taking my A Levels this past June. I am empathetic and patient, and love helping you make the same connections that inspire me to keep learning science everyday. I plan to go on to an MSc and PhD in Palaeobotany [plants and fossils of plants], so I love anything biological and scientific. At GCSE I achieved grade 9 in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Language, Geography, and Fine Art, as well as Grade 8 in Food Preparation and Nutrition, English Literature, and Spanish. At A Level I achieved A* in Biology and my EPQ [about mycobotanical symbiosis], and grade A in Maths and Chemistry, although I was less than 5 marks from an A* in both subjects.

I am an enthusiastic and patient teacher, I provide and mark questions and make learning resources tailored to you. I let you in on all my secrets that allowed me to achieve 9(concealed information) at GCSE and A*A*AA at A Level without spending my whole life studying. I will work through anything you don't understand and help you see problems from different perspectives. Lessons can be 30 minutes to an hour although I am flexible to whatever would benefit you the most. I tutored my sister and cousin whilst taking my A Levels- my sister struggled with maths and was taking foundation tier and still failing, but with my help and structured plan, I helped her begin to enjoy and understand what she was afraid of before, leading her to pass the exam. I also got an offer for Natural Sciences at Cambridge, however I missed my offer by one grade, but I believe I can still offer valuable insight into the application process and NSAA exam. after scoring level 7 in all sections.
