# About Me
I am **Dr. S. Subhashini**, serving as an **Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding** at the **School of Agricultural Sciences, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India**. My teaching and research focus on integrating modern genomics, molecular breeding, and artificial intelligence to accelerate crop improvement for sustainable agriculture.
My research interests include **genomic selection, genome-wide association studies (GWAS), quantitative genetics, molecular breeding, multi-omics integration, high-throughput phenotyping, and AI-assisted plant breeding**. I have worked extensively on economically important crops such as **cotton, rice, black gram, green gram, chickpea, pigeon pea, and other pulse crops**, with particular emphasis on improving yield, fiber quality, stress tolerance, and climate resilience.
I actively develop research proposals and review articles in emerging areas of plant breeding and biotechnology. My current academic interests include integrating genomics with transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and machine learning to enhance breeding efficiency and precision agriculture. I am also interested in applying crop simulation models and bioinformatics tools for breeding decision support.
As an educator, I am committed to delivering quality teaching in genetics, plant breeding, biotechnology, and seed technology while mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students in research methodology, scientific writing, and modern breeding approaches. I regularly prepare learning resources, practical manuals, MCQs, and research-oriented teaching materials aligned with contemporary agricultural education.
I strongly believe that the future of agriculture lies in combining traditional breeding knowledge with advanced genomic technologies, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision-making to develop climate-resilient, high-yielding, and nutritionally improved crop varieties that contribute to global food security.
