About Hazel
I completed my Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences from the University of Maine, where I supported student learning centers and helped run outreach programs for K–12 science students. With seven years of tutoring experience, including five years online, I’ve learned how to nurture curious learners, encourage shy students, and simplify even the most overwhelming biology units. I am known for my warmth, my clarity, and my ability to turn large chapters into ideas that feel natural and memorable.

Biology is easiest when it feels familiar. That’s why I teach each topic through experiences students already understand: breathing deeply after running, the way skin heals, how traits run through families, and why plants lean toward the sun.
Microbiology becomes a tiny universe; Cell Biology becomes the blueprint of life; Physiology becomes the orchestra of organs working together; Genetics becomes the code behind inherited patterns; and Biotechnology becomes the bridge between science and technology.
My lessons are calm, steady, and filled with everyday examples that give meaning to even complex chapters. This prepares students for introductory college biology, where real understanding matters more than memorizing facts.
