About Sydnee
Experience:
- Current 4th year undergraduate student in biology with honors with a minor in environmental science
- Current environmental monitoring research assistant
- International Baccalaureate (IB) certificate from Pre-IB Science, IB Biology and IB Chemistry
Teaching style:
- Encouraging students to engage in the material and challenge themselves
- Reassuring students on their abilities to reinforce their skills and confidence
- Allow a safe space for students to ask questions and be curious
- Providing tips and tricks for strengthening crucial skills (e.g., memorization, problem-solving, scientific writing, data interpretation, studying and time management, etc.)
My #1 job is to create a space for students to improve their learning and be inspired by biology as a whole!

- Help students visualize and understand concepts, tailoring to their needs and accommodating all learning styles using diagrams, real-life examples, and practice questions.
- A typical lesson plan can involve reviewing difficult material, providing tips and tricks for memorization, working through practice problems step-by-step to strengthen problem-solving skills, and a provides a safe space for students to ask questions.
- As a current undergraduate student in my final year, I have a strong understanding of foundational biological concepts, and the challenges that come with learning. Through personal experience and additional resources, I have developed efficient studying techniques and strengthened my critical thinking skills.
- These lessons are best suited for middle school and high school students taking biology, and undergraduate students focusing on botany and mycology.
