About Neha
Tutoring as a whole excites me as I have experience in the field and it is something I enjoy doing. It allows me to help students with similar struggles to those I've had and help them overcome challenges in a unique but efficient manner. In the past I've worked for Kumon - Math and Reading Center where I assisted students in their weekly work. I've also tutored College Inro Biology to freshmen as a part of a program with the Professor. This gave me the experience of creating lesson plans and understanding the importance of prioritizing the students. Each student has different approaches to learning and acknowledging that is key. I am currently an undergraduate but I do have experience in elementary to high school curriculum. Being a student allows me to still be in the network and know the content that is taught today and narrow down topics that are crucial for students to know.

As a tutor I approach each lesson with an outline. I will make lesson plans for each class and assign homework. Practice is key so by offering a variety of study methods, students will be able to find what works for them. Study methods include flashcards, practice problems, mnemonics, and active recall. Each of these study methods will be personalized to the student. An example of a lesson plan may include a review of the previous lesson to help refresh memory, practice problems to test memory, lecture a new lesson, and take breaks in between to practice problems and gauge the understanding of students. Finally, summarize the lesson. There will also be time for the student to ask questions throughout.
