About Jess
While from London originally, I now live in Dundee as a member of the ScotGEM graduate entry medicine programme. Like many people I applied for medicine as a teenager, didn't get in, and tried to find something else I could imagine myself doing, but it didn't work! It's a dream now to apply with a much stronger portfolio and a renewed passion for medicine in totality; I am really excited to be a practising doctor, especially as a vehicle for social justice and equality. In my spare time I read, go on long walks, and try to keep my house plants alive!

Hello! I am a graduate medical student on the ScotGEM programme, with two degrees, and I've tutored at a range of levels and over a range of subjects for 5 years. I also got in the 98th percentile on GAMSAT, and 330 on UCAT, so I know what I'm talking about when it comes to medical entry exams! In addition, I've taught A level, Higher, and Advanced Higher Biology and Chemistry for 3 years as well as getting A*s on my own A-Levels, so I am very happy to assist with those subjects too. I have a friendly teaching style which is designed to be enjoyable as well as challenging, built on trust and on generating knowledge that sticks and works for you instead of relying on rote learning. I'm also really happy to work on other medicine related topics such as personal statements, finding the right unis, or searching for funding. Let me know if any of this sounds right for you. NOTE: with an awareness that tutoring is a really useful resource that is mostly available to people with money, if you feel like you can't afford my fees but come from a marginalised/low income/first gen uni background, reach out nonetheless and we might be able to work something out! Looking forward to hearing from you, Jess

My experience with Jess was fundamental in helping me secure two offers, with another 2 still pending. She provided comprehensive support throughout the entire process — from GAMSAT preparation to UCAS applications, and through to interview stage.
Having applied twice before, I can confidently say that her time, patience, and teaching approach made a decisive difference for me. Her guidance not only strengthened my application but also gave me the confidence and strategy I had previously been missing.
I would highly recommend her to anyone applying, as her own experience allows her to offer insight that is both practical and genuinely supportive.Jess knows a lot about all sections of the GAMSAT, she's been particularly helpful in exam technique, essay preparation and critique, and understanding complicated comprehension questions. She's good at encouraging thinking outside my usual train of thought, which is especially useful for section 1 and MMI preparation. Thanks to Jess I scored in the 90th percentile and secured a place at my top choice uni!
Jess has been a great help for exam technique, planning and critiquing essay questions, and for explaining complicated comprehension questions. She's good at encouraging thinking in ways outside my usual train of thought, which is great for section 1 and for MMI preparation. Thanks to Jess I scored in the 90th percentile and received offers for GEM :)
I had no idea what I was getting into with GAMSAT, but I’m so glad I found Jess. She was calm and encouraging- quickly focussing on my strengths and building up my confidence in the areas I struggled with more. Very happy with my GAMSAT results, and couldn’t have done it without Jess!
