About Siri
I am a 2nd year Neuroscience PhD student studying how the immune system in the brain ages and what impact it has on cognition. This is a culmination of all my learning across my academic journey where I set out to expand our knowledge beyond what we currently know.
Alongside my PhD, I have taught on the Neuroscience undergraduate for the past 2 years. This has taught new teaching skills to encourage self motivated learning and critical thinking.
I have also taught Science and English at a charity school at primary school which required a more fun and engaging teaching style to generate interest in the subjects.
I love teaching because it allows me to combine my passion for learning with my desire to make a difference in the lives of others. I'm constantly inspired by my students' curiosity and creativity, and I enjoy the challenge of finding new ways to engage them in the learning process.

I've tutored students of all ages and abilities, from primary school to undergraduate level. I specialize in biology and chemistry, but I'm also comfortable teaching other sciences including maths.
I believe in a discussion-centered approach to learning. I start by getting to know my students and understanding their individual learning styles. I then tailor my lessons to their specific needs, using a variety of teaching methods to keep them engaged and motivated. I believe in a discussion-centric teaching method that involves recalling previous knowledge and forming links to new information. This works particularly well for sciences as a strong fundamental knowledge framework is crucial for learning, understanding and analysing information in future academic levels.
I'm particularly skilled at breaking down complex concepts into easy-to-understand terms. I also encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills. My goal is to help students not only understand the material but also apply it to real-world situations and develop a self-driven style of learning.
If you're looking for a dedicated and effective tutor, I'm confident I can help you achieve your academic goals. Please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss your specific needs.
