About Rukayat

I’m a friendly and patient biochemist currently working in the UK biotechnology industry. I hold an MSc in Biological Chemistry and have always enjoyed helping others understand science in a way that feels clear and manageable rather than overwhelming.
I started tutoring because I know how intimidating Biology and Chemistry can feel when concepts aren’t explained properly. With the right guidance, most students realise they’re far more capable than they thought. Seeing that confidence grow is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me.
Alongside my work as a scientist, I’ve supported GCSE, A-Level and university students through tutoring and mentoring. I’m calm, encouraging and approachable, and I aim to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through difficulties without pressure.
I believe strong foundations and clear thinking are key to success in science, and I enjoy helping students build both.

About the lesson

I’m a UK-based biochemist with an MSc in Biological Chemistry and I currently work as a scientist in the biotechnology industry. I specialise in helping GCSE, A-Level and early university students build a strong understanding of Biology and Chemistry so they can approach exams with confidence.
My lessons are calm, structured and tailored to each student. I focus on breaking down complex topics into simple, logical steps and then reinforcing them through exam-style questions and active recall. I don’t believe in memorising without understanding — once you truly understand the science, the grades follow naturally.
I support students who want to achieve top grades, as well as those who feel behind and need clear guidance. Many students I work with say they feel more confident, organised and less anxious about science after just a few sessions.
Lessons can include:
• Topic-by-topic teaching and revision
• Past paper practice and exam technique
• Help with homework and coursework
• Study planning and accountability
• University biochemistry support (selected topics)
I’m patient, encouraging and approachable, and I aim to create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes while learning. My goal is for every student to leave sessions feeling clearer, more confident and more capable in science.
