About Tanya

Welcome! I'm committed to helping students build confidence and clarity in mathematics. Whether we're working through foundational skills or tackling more advanced concepts, my goal is to make math understandable, approachable, and even enjoyable. I provide well-structured explanations, patient guidance, and strategies that strengthen problem-solving skills. Professionalism is important to me, so you can always expect clear communication, strong subject knowledge, and careful attention to spelling and grammar. I look forward to supporting your progress and helping you succeed in math with confidence. There was a point in my own math journey when I struggled with a new concept—not because I couldn’t understand it, but because the explanation I was given didn’t match the way I learned. I remember working through a set of algebra problems and feeling frustrated that the steps seemed to “jump” without clear logic. Instead of giving up, I slowed down, broke each problem into smaller parts, and looked for patterns on my own. Once the concept clicked, it completely changed my approach to learning math: I realized that difficulty isn’t a sign of failure, but an opportunity to develop deeper understanding. That experience shapes how I teach today. When a student struggles, I don’t push them through the material—I help them find the method that actually makes sense to them. It’s one of the reasons I’m patient, thorough, and committed to clear explanations.
