About Mei-Ling
Native speaker in Mandarin and also Taiwanese, a local dialect. Learning English since I was three years old, from letters ABC til today, working in the US as a product manager.
I love learning languages - in middle school, I self-learned Korean because I was so into K-pop. In college, I took Italian for a year (just for fun). Fast forward to 2022, I traveled to South America and started learning Spanish since. Later in the year, I have my eyes on Japanese before I decided to travel there for 2 months.
Self-learning a language requires a lot of practice, motivation, and a goal. Most importantly, without an environment to expose you to the language, you will soon hit the roadblocks. That's me. I have tried many ways of learning language and am happy to show you some tips and tricks!

I like to use multimedia tools in the class, instead of just reading textbook. Live conversation, online videos, movies, and mini-games are all fun ways to learn a language. Fun fact - Netflix has helped me so much in speaking English.
Mandarin is a totally different language from English, from its characters, tunes, and grammars. As an English learner for more than 20 years, I relate to the difference and can show you how to learn Mandarin in a better way!
Besides - there is no better way to improve a language skill than talking to a native speaker.
