This really depends on the student, before teaching anyone it is crucial to understand the method of preferred learning for the student. After that method is understood then I can approach my teaching method accordingly! I believe learning how to speak and make yourself be understood comes before grammar and punctuation, being able to have a good conversation does come before analyzing texts and creating essays in Spanish.
