About Patrick
I am currently a Freshman (will be entering my Sophomore year in the fall) at Boston College who loves singing, Irish dance, and musical theatre. I am working towards my Bachelor of Science degree in Math while also considering additional avenues, such as Chemistry, Music and the Pre-Med track. Despite being unsure, I know that I love teaching math! As a senior in high school, I was the first peer tutor to ever be attached to an Honors Pre-Calculus class of approximately 20 students (they had only attached them to Algebra 1 or Geometry classes before) and I was even tutoring some of my own friends who were in the class. My presence in the infamously-difficult class helped boost people's averages such that it set a new precedent in letting people become tutors for that level of Pre-Calc. I was also a National Honor's Society tutor and would help tutor in our schools math lab after school. Aside from Pre-Calculus, I have also taken AP Calculus AB (and can offer tips in preparing for the AP exam). In college, soo far I have taken Calculus BC and am currently in Multivariable Calculus. I will be enrolling into Linear Algebra in the fall!

I like to first present a topic and try and put it in easier terms that are at least roughly analogous and that will help people understand it's meaning. For example, in explaining how derivatives are, I would explain that they are the INSTANTANEOUS slope of any given point. Then, I like to refer to a few easy examples, gradually increasing the level of difficulty.
