About Rome

With 8 years of experience and nearly 150 successful students, I am dedicated to delivering structured and inspiring flute lessons to learners of all ages. My approach combines technical precision with creative exploration. I emphasise proper breathing techniques, embouchure control, tone refinement, finger agility, and rhythm accuracy to build a solid foundation. Beyond technique, I encourage students to understand musical phrasing and emotional expression in their playing.

I adapt my teaching style to match individual learning preferences, ensuring clarity and progress in every session. I regularly assess performance and provide constructive feedback to help students improve consistently.

One of my key strengths is fostering discipline while keeping lessons engaging and motivating. I strive to create a positive atmosphere where students feel supported and confident in their abilities. My mission is to help students reach their full musical potential and enjoy every step of their learning journey.

About the lesson

My flute teaching methodology is centred on personalised guidance, adaptability, collaboration, and positivity. I believe every student has a unique learning style, so I tailor lessons to their pace and strengths, ensuring clarity and steady progress.

I begin with fundamentals such as posture, breath control, embouchure formation, and tone production. Step by step, I introduce finger techniques, articulation exercises, scales, and rhythm drills to strengthen technical ability. I focus on building strong habits early so that advanced techniques can be learnt smoothly.

In addition to flute performance, I teach related subjects including music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and rhythm understanding. This integrated approach helps students connect practical skills with theoretical knowledge.

Flexibility is key in my approach. I adapt lesson plans according to goals, whether preparing for exams, performances, competitions, or personal learning. Collaboration is encouraged through goal-setting, repertoire selection, and musical discussions.

I maintain a positive and encouraging environment where students feel confident to explore, make mistakes, and improve. My goal is to develop technically skilled, expressive, and confident flute musicians with a lifelong love for music.
