About Avery
With 13 years of piano teaching experience and nearly 300 students trained, I have developed a teaching approach that is supportive, practical, and results-focused. I teach high school students, college learners, and adults who want to improve their piano skills for exams, performances, or personal enjoyment.
I believe learning piano should be structured yet enjoyable. My teaching philosophy combines technical training with emotional expression. I guide students through scales, chords, rhythm exercises, and reading music. At the same time, I encourage them to connect deeply with each piece they play.
I also teach students effective practice strategies so they can improve steadily at home. Many of my students have successfully passed graded exams and gained confidence performing on stage. I am proud to have helped learners overcome stage fear and develop strong performance skills. My mission is to create disciplined, confident, and passionate musicians.

My piano teaching methodology is designed to build strong technical skills while nurturing creativity and confidence. I begin by understanding each student’s learning style, goals, and previous experience. Some students learn best through visual methods like reading sheet music, while others benefit from listening and repetition.
I adapt my lessons to match these preferences. I focus on correct posture, hand positioning, finger strength, scales, rhythm accuracy, and expressive dynamics.
I guide students step by step, breaking complex pieces into smaller sections for better understanding. Flexibility allows me to adjust the lesson pace when needed. Collaboration encourages students to participate in goal setting and repertoire selection. I maintain a positive learning atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.
In addition to piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, harmony, and beginner improvisation to develop complete musicianship
