About Sophie

I am a native English-speaking graduate from London who holds a Level 5 TEFL Certificate and a Business English certificate. I am very friendly, open-minded, patient and kind, and I love meeting and working with people from all over the world!

I myself have studied French for many years and I can appreciate how challenging yet rewarding it is to learn a new language. I have a desire to improve the lives of others by teaching English and providing students with the necessary skills to excel in their personal and professional lives.

With a background in marketing, I feel I have obtained many transferable skills that are highly beneficial as a teacher. Both marketing and teaching require building connections with others, a change in perspective, and an ability to inspire and motivate. I look forward to creating exciting and engaging lessons to motivate students from all over the world and help them to learn effectively.

About the lesson

I believe the most effective way to teach a new language is to make it fun and interactive. From my own experience, I have always learnt more effectively when I was having fun in lessons and was using various materials like audios, videos and games. I also believe it is important to build real connections with students, and take the time to get to know them, understand their background, their learning styles, and what goals they would like to reach.

I met Sophie when I was travelling, and I was looking for a tutor to help me practise my English skills. We only had a few lessons together but she made the lessons really fun and my English really improved in a short space of time! Would definitely recommend.
