About Andriy

I'm a Brooklyn-based DJ, party curator, and radio host (with a bi-weekly show on a local station), and I teach mixing the way I wish someone had taught me when I started — patiently, and with passion, built entirely around the music you actually want to play.

About the lesson

My approach
- There's no single "right" way to DJ, so I don't run a rigid curriculum. Lessons are hands-on from minute one: you'll be on the gear, mixing real tracks, and building confidence rather than just watching me talk. I break the more intimidating parts (beatmatching, EQing, phrasing, reading a track's energy) into small, achievable steps, and we move at your pace.

A typical first lesson
- We start by getting comfortable with the equipment — what each part of a Pioneer setup and Rekordbox actually does — then jump straight into loading tracks, finding the beat, and making your first clean transition between two songs. By the end of the first session, you'll have mixed two tracks together yourself. From there we build toward beatmatching by ear, EQ blends, creative transitions, and structuring a short set.

What sets me apart
- Every lesson is tailored to your taste. Bring me your playlist — house, techno, tech house, or something else entirely — and we'll learn the fundamentals using music you love, which makes everything stick faster. As an active curator and radio host, I also share the practical side most tutorials skip: how to read a room, build energy across a set, find and organize music, and develop your own sound.

Who it's for
- Complete beginners are my favorite students — no prior experience or equipment needed. Lessons work for anyone curious about DJing as a hobby, aspiring artists who want to play out, or people who just love electronic music and want to understand how it's made live. We can meet online or in-person at a studio.
