About Henry
During my time doing GCSE and A-Level Maths and Further Maths I achieved 9,9, A*B (with extenuating circumstances). In my Maths degree at the University of Bath, I am currently on a 2:1. I have tutored 7 people at both GCSE and A-Level, with all 7 improving by at least 1 grade. I understand that maths can sometimes be a subject not everyone wants to do (or it is in my case at least). My ethos for our sessions is to make maths a more enjoyable experience by targeting the gaps in understanding rather than simply repeating a task. Outside of Maths, I love football, but try not to remind me about my beloved Manchester United.

Everyone at some point has reached a level of Maths where the understanding or even the methodology for solving problems can appear challenging. My goal from our sessions is to clean up the understanding and breed confidence in solving problems.
The lesson structure (1hr):
-Recapping or teaching the method and useful techniques for a topic
-Introductory problems and questions
-Exam-style questions (collaborative)
-Discussing the answers
- Recap or challenge questions plus resources to complete before our next session
I also offer 2 hour sessions but the 1 hour format above is generally what is covered. I fully endorse this format because being able to communicate the maths well reinforces understanding whilst also getting the necessary exam practice to secure the top grades. I provide resources to complete outside of sessions to reinforce the skill we have learned, and I am also available to message for help at any time (I do not charge extra for this part of the service). The first lesson is free so I can assess where you are currently at, and we can put together a plan so you can get the most out of sessions with me. That being said, if you are interested send me a message, I am very active and able to answer any questions you may have!
