About Miranda

I am both a Natural Sciences and Epidemiology graduate, having studied at UCL and Southampton.

Additionally, I studied Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at A-Level and IGCSE.
I have been tutoring over the last 4 years, covering everything from the 11+ and entrance exams, to A-Levels, undergraduate biology and medical students.

I am a friendly, enthusiastic individual with a passion for learning, with one of the best aspects of tutoring aside from my students excelling, is seeing that enthusiasm for 'all things science' ignited and encouraged in my students.

I am available online, in your home (if Central/East London based) or in a public location be it library or coffee shop!

About the lesson

Why pick me to be your Biology, Chemistry or Maths tutor?

Experience: I have over 4 years of tutoring experience, including BSc level, medical students, UKCAT, I+/GCSE's, A-Levels and entrance exams, as well having studied under some of UCLs best biologists and statisticians.
I was fortunate enough to study a range of biology disciplines such as molecular and cellular biology, neuropharmacology, genetics, immunology and infection and biochemistry, as well as degree level maths and organic chemistry.

Approach: My approach is tailored to the needs and desired outcomes of the student. Not all of us learn the same so in order to have the best results, I am happy to accommodate to all learning styles.
I can guide through homework and assignments, teach in tandem to the school curriculum as additional lessons, focus on particular topics or work through examples for specific exams / examining bodies – in my experience a combination of these methods has often provided the most successful outcome.

Resources and Style: I offer weekly 'homework' and provide additional reading, as well as regular assessment-based progress reports.
My lesson style is interactive with an enthusiastic and encouraging approach, typically lasting an hour at a time, although my younger students (11+, SATs, and KS2/3) sometimes prefer 30-45minute sessions.
I would recommend for UCAS applications, interviews, entrance exams etc, that more time be allocated to talk through the entire process start to finish.

Lessons take place either online through teams, zoom or google meet, or can take place in home around the East London area.
