About Michelle
At 22, I’ve just finished my degree with a first-class dissertation and a high 2:1 overall. I’ve always loved learning, and now I want to pass that excitement on to my students. Whether you're just starting out in school or exploring more advanced topics like IB Psychology, I’m here to make sure that learning is not just something you have to do, but something you want to do!
Why do I teach? Because I know how important it is to feel confident in your own abilities, no matter what stage you’re at. I’ve been through the ups and downs of student life myself, so I understand what it’s like to need a bit of extra support or a fresh perspective. I love breaking down tricky subjects and making them simple—and fun!—so you can feel confident and excited about learning.
I work with younger students in Key Stage 1 and 2, helping them develop strong foundations in reading, writing, and math, all while keeping lessons engaging and interactive. And for those of you studying IB Psychology, I’m here to help you navigate complex theories, structure your essays, and prepare for exams with confidence.
My goal is to make sure that you not only succeed academically but also enjoy the process. I’m excited to meet you and help you reach your full potential!

Approach to Tutoring and Teaching Methodology
I aim to make learning an exciting and enriching experience for children. For younger students in Key Stage 1 and 2, my lessons are designed to spark curiosity and keep them engaged with interactive activities that make learning fun. For older students, such as those studying IB Psychology, I adopt a more structured approach, helping them to build strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Techniques and Teaching Methodology
For Key Stage 1 and 2 students, I use hands-on, playful methods such as storytelling, visual aids, and interactive exercises to make challenging topics easier to grasp. My goal is to help children develop confidence in their abilities and enjoy learning. For IB Psychology students, my lessons are more focused on helping them grasp complex psychological concepts, structure their essays, and critically analyze research, ensuring they excel in both their coursework and exams.
Typical Length of a Lesson
For Key Stage 1 and 2, I find that 45-minute sessions work best to maintain attention and energy. For IB Psychology students, lessons typically last an hour to allow for in-depth discussion and analysis. However, I am flexible and can adjust lesson lengths based on each student’s needs.
Qualifications and Experience
I graduated from Durham University with a first-class dissertation and a high 2:1 degree overall. My academic background, particularly in psychology, provides me with the expertise to tutor IB Psychology students effectively. I also have experience working with younger children, which has helped me develop a teaching approach that keeps them engaged and excited about learning.
Who Are My Lessons For?
My lessons cater to two main groups:
Key Stage 1 and 2 students (ages 5-11), where I focus on building strong foundations in reading, writing, and mathematics, while making the learning experience fun and interactive.
IB Psychology students, who are looking for support in understanding complex topics, structuring their essays, and preparing for exams. My background in psychology allows me to guide students through their coursework, helping them achieve their academic goals.
