About Catherine
I’m Catherine—a passionate communicator, national public speaking champion, and lifelong learner currently studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at the University of Sydney. I’ve always loved words: their power to inspire, persuade, and connect us. Teaching allows me to share that passion while helping students build confidence in themselves and their ideas. Having competed and coached at the highest levels of public speaking and debate, I know what it’s like to feel nervous—and I know how empowering it is to finally find your voice. I teach because I believe strong communication skills are essential for life, not just school. Watching a student grow in confidence, speak with purpose, and realize their potential is the most rewarding part of what I do.

As a passionate and experienced public speaking and English tutor, my teaching approach is warm, personalised, and results-driven. I work with each student to build their confidence, clarity and communication through practical, engaging lessons.
I teach students aged 7–18+, from beginners to advanced, whether they’re preparing for competitions, exams (like ASCA), school assessments, or simply building general speaking or writing confidence.
My lessons typically run for 45 to 60 minutes and can be tailored to suit your goals—whether it’s increasing confidence to persuasive speeches, reading aloud, essay writing or competitive debating.
With a Diploma of Communication from the Australian Speech Communication Association, I’m a National Public Speaking Champion, World Finalist, and currently studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of Sydney.
I’ve taught over 100 students through schools, coaching programs and private sessions, and bring a depth of experience, creativity, and care to every lesson.
