About Janet
One thing I've learned from teaching guitar is that students improve faster when they enjoy what they are playing. Keeping lessons connected to their interests helps them stay motivated and excited to practice.
I have a Music Degree and 10 years of teaching experience with teenagers and adult students. Working with different learners has helped me understand how to balance technical skills with creativity and personal expression.
I enjoy helping students discover their own style while building strong foundations. Seeing someone play their first complete song or create their own music is always a special moment.

During my guitar lessons, I focus on making learning enjoyable while helping students build strong playing habits. Each class is adjusted to your level, musical interests, and goals, so you can improve at a pace that feels comfortable.
We'll work on chords, strumming patterns, rhythm guitar, fingerstyle playing, picking techniques, improvisation, songwriting basics, scales, music theory, and song practice. We can learn your favourite songs, break down difficult sections, and explore different styles of playing.
I'll provide simple practice routines, helpful feedback, and clear goals to guide your progress. With regular practice, you'll develop better technique, more confidence, and the ability to enjoy playing songs on your own.
