About Bozhidar
Bozhidar Bozhkilov
Hailing from Bulgaria, Bozhidar Bozhkilov has amassed considerable international performance and stage experience, as well as many accolades.
He obtained his master's degree in classical singing in the National Academy of Music in Bulgaria (2016), when he was already building his international career. He further continued his studies in the prestigious Academia Teatro alla Scala (2019-2021), a highly coveted programme for young talents. Throughout the years, he has studied with: Montserrat Caballé, Anna Tomova-Sintow, Raina Kabaivanska, Bonaldo Giaiotti, Larisa Gergieva, Bruna Baglioni, Luciana D'Intino, Stoyan Popov and others.
He has performed in over 15 countries, including: Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Albania, Montenegro, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Slovakia, Russia, North Korea, Oman and in some of the most prestigious theatres and concert halls, amongst which: Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Regio Torino, Mariinsky concert hall, Auditorio Mozart (Zaragoza), Auditorio Alfredo Kraus (Las Palmas), Sofia National Opera and Ballet, Teatro Filarmonico (Verona), Royal Opera House Muscat (Oman) and others. In 2020, after a national competition in Bulgaria, he was selected by Sonya Yoncheva to sing with her in a Gala Concert in the amphitheater in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
Bozhkilov’s numerous prizes from over 20 international opera competitions and accolades attest to the high esteem in which he is held as an artist. These include first prize and two special prizes at the 4th Andrea Chénier International Vocal Competition (2019), second prize and special prizes in the 11th Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, third prize in Virginia Zeani Grand Prix, etc.
Further accolades include being awarded an honorary sign of the Verona Lirica Music Association and Arena di Verona at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, the honour of Laureate of the First National Prof. Pancho Vladigerov Awards, category "Classical Singing", awarded to the most successful young Bulgarian musicians(2015). Bozhkilov was also awarded with the Honorary Gold Medal “100 Years Boris Christoff” by the Republic of Bulgaria’s Ministry of Culture prizes, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Boris Christoff (2014)

Throughout the years I have been fortunate enough to learn from some of the greatest singers of the past, including: Montserrat Caballe, Raina Kabaivanska, Anna Tomova-Sintow, Stoyan Popov, Bonaldo Giaiotti, Luciana D'Intino and many others.
During our lessons, we shall work on all aspects of what it takes to be a good and respected performer. Technique, interpretation, guidance towards choosing the appropriate repertoire and in-depth analysis of it, pronunciation (especially Italian and Russian), self-awareness, and very importantly - psychological preparation and the development of confidence, based on real skills and knowledge. I aim at achieving rapid results with my students, ensuring that the improvement can be noted with each passing lesson.
