About Huma
Huma Imdad is a PhD candidate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Heriot-Watt University Dubai. She leads the EBS Global Incubator, where she designs and delivers innovation-focused programs across sectors such as NetZero, Fintech, healthtech, AI/robotics, and sustainability. Huma brings over a decade of experience in ecosystem development, working with academic, corporate, and public sector stakeholders across the UK, UAE, and Pakistan. Her doctoral research explores how incubators and accelerators support research commercialization within transnational university ecosystems. A non-traditional entrant to academia, she is passionate about bridging operational insights with academic rigor, advocating for more accessible and structured pathways into doctoral education. Huma's work also includes leading capacity-building bootcamps, mentoring startups, and building international collaborations focused on SDG-aligned innovation.

I teach entrepreneurship and innovation, human resource planning, intercultural issues in business and enterprises, social enterprises, how to pitch, business model canvas, and so much more. I keep it interactive, usually a lesson of 4 minutes to an hour, I am currently pursuing my PhD in innovation and entrepreneurship and have taught undergraduates and graduates in the past.
