My teaching approach varies by the student and the subject that I’m teaching. Everyone learns differently. I like to get an idea of their background, know about their goals, and what knowledge they have and still need to learn. Where are their strengths and weaknesses. I would start with a resource review sheet over the topic to get an idea of where they are and time to respond to my questions. I would then form my lesson plans around turning weaknesses into strengths with practice, role play with real scenarios, and discuss best practices and tips. After this process is complete, I would put the student in a real life situation and test them to see if they have improved and what areas in more work. I would provide feed back to the student to compliment them on the areas they did excellent work in, and I would give pointers to continue to work on for the next session. To finish the session, I would ask if there was any question about anything that we had covered. I would also ask if there is anything I can do better or differently to benefit them in learning
I am currently an entrepreneur in investment real estate after leaving the finance industry as a Vice President over seeing 100+ employees. I was over hiring, terminating, training, and coaching skills to increase performance with the goal for advancement and increased pay/bonuses.
