About Rhian

I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker with previous tutoring experience and a strong passion for helping students learn Chinese with confidence. I completed my undergraduate degree in Business and am currently pursuing postgraduate study in Social Development, which has strengthened my communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.

I understand that learning Mandarin can feel challenging at first, especially with pronunciation, tones and characters. Therefore, I aim to create a supportive, patient and structured learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and practising regularly. My teaching style is clear, encouraging and flexible, and I always adapt my lessons to each student’s goals, level and pace.

Whether you are learning Mandarin for school, work, travel, exams or personal interest, I will help you build practical language skills step by step.

About the lesson

I tailor my Mandarin lessons to each student’s goals, level and learning style. My classes combine listening, speaking, reading and writing, with a strong focus on practical communication and confidence-building. I use structured lesson plans, interactive exercises, pronunciation practice, vocabulary building and real-life conversation scenarios to make learning clear and enjoyable.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, but this can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs. As a native Mandarin speaker with previous tutoring experience, a business background and postgraduate study in social development, I have strong communication skills and a patient teaching style. My lessons are suitable for beginners, intermediate learners, students preparing for exams, and anyone interested in improving their Mandarin for study, travel, work or daily communication.
