About Sabrina
I am a Business student currently studying for my Bachelor's degree. I have recently become certified to teach ESL by completing a 120 Hour course in TESOL/TEFL as well as a 60 Hour course in TEYL. I have experience teaching young children English both as a secondary language and for basic American English classes. I have been volunteering and teaching young learners from ages 5 to 12 for a year now. I do not mind working with older learners, but have little practical experience doing so. I really enjoy getting to know my students and working towards helping them develop their unique learning goals.

The approach I take with students involves really getting to know them and how they learn best. My goal is to engage students with a variety of learning styles so that every learning sensor is being fully utilized. I like to teach time-management skills so that students are better able to organize and study English for better mastery over the language. For each student I teach, I create an individualized lesson plan that focuses on areas needing improvement using the learning style that works best for them. I like to engage students in fun exercises and find interesting resources for my students to learn from. Overall, I would say that my approach to teaching is very individualized as all students learn by different means. While one individual may learn better through auditory stimulation, another might learn better through kinesthetic learning techniques. Keeping this in mind, teaching individual students allows me to really get to know a student and how best they learn so that I am able to provide the right tools to help them learn and progress in the language journey.
