About Akerke
My name is Akerke, and I am a Year 2 student in the Global BBA program at ESSEC Business School in Singapore. Originally from Kazakhstan, I have always been passionate about learning and sharing knowledge, especially in mathematics. I believe that “Math is the queen of science”, not only a tool, but a way of thinking. Solving problems by breaking them into clear, smaller steps builds logic, discipline, and problem-solving skills that are useful far beyond the classroom. I first discovered my love for teaching while helping my younger brother with math. Supporting him through challenges showed me that I can help students succeed without feeling overwhelmed or losing themselves over the subject. I want to teach because I enjoy helping younger learners gain confidence, watching them progress, and showing them that math can be approachable, practical, and even enjoyable.

My tutoring approach is based on clarity, engagement, and confidence-building. I use step-by-step explanations, practice exercises, and short feedback sessions so students understand the logic behind math, not just the answers. Each lesson is adapted to the child’s pace, whether they need more support or want to move ahead.
Lesson length depends on age: 45 minutes for children under 10, and 60 minutes for students aged 10 and above, to balance focus with effective practice.
I am a Global BBA student at ESSEC Business School with a strong background in mathematics and international experience supporting younger learners.
