About Youngjai
I’m Renee, a Korean language teacher based in California and the creator of CaliHAROO, a project that explores the nuance and emotional depth of Korean words.
I hold an official Korean Language Teaching Certificate issued in Korea, along with a California teaching credential. I also have experience in the California public school system.
My training gives me the structure and professionalism needed for serious learning. My work through CaliHAROO reflects my deeper interest in how Korean carries tone, relationship, and meaning.

My lessons are practical, focused, and built around how Korean is actually used.
I don’t teach from a rigid script or overwhelm you with grammar charts. Instead, we work with real expressions, real situations, and patterns that make sense. You learn something, use it immediately, and understand why it sounds natural.
Some days we break down a single expression and explore how tone changes meaning. Other days we work on conversation flow, fixing the small things that make Korean sound awkward.
