About Ana
Whether you're touching the piano for the first time or want to deepen your musical expressivity, I’ll be very happy to guide you.
Hi! I'm a Brazilian composer, vocalist, and pianist trained in Rio and New York. I studied Music (Composition & Philosophy) at Columbia University, where I worked across jazz harmony, contemporary composition, vocal interpretation, band ensembles, and studio production.
I have a deep respect for the beginner’s mind: its clarity, curiosity, and sense of urgency. This is why I teach with a creative, structured approach — not by recitation, but by giving you method, clarity, and real musical understanding.
ᯓ♪ About My Background
My formation is eclectic: classical piano for 10 years, jazz harmony in Rio, classical/opera phrasing in New York, contemporary composition at Columbia University, and piano for music production and studio recording. I draw from many traditions to make the instrument feel natural, expressive, and enjoyable.
Music isn’t just about accuracy. It’s about expression, and that’s the element I bring into every session.

Whether you're touching the piano for the first time or want to deepen your musical expressivity, I’ll be very happy to guide you.

Ana has over 15 years experience in piano, music theory, music composition, and more recently, singing, learning from the very best. Aside from writing her own songs and performing brilliantly on the piano and voice, she has never missed a chance to teach her skills to someone else, teaching children and teens over the past ten years. Ana gives as much care and attention to her students as she does to her own practice. I am impressed with how much my niece has improved on the piano with Ana's guidance and highly recommend her to prospective students!
Ana is a dedicated and highly responsible teacher, with refined musical taste and real clarity in everything she does. Her musical articulation is impressive, and she approaches her work with care and precision. Music truly feels like her vocation.
She has excellent vocal placement and a beautiful ability to blend piano harmony with the voice. After seeing her perform, my respect and admiration for her only grew. Professional, eclectic, and warm, Ana offers an honest and meaningful learning experience. Anyone who studies with her will grow musically in a genuine way.Ana is a dedicated teacher who always takes the time to address her students’ questions and guide them through their difficulties. She puts a lot of thought into planning and structuring her lessons, and it shows in the results.
My 9-year-old granddaughter had rhythmic difficulties in her left hand, and today she already plays the piano with both hands — something we owe entirely to Ana’s method and patience. We truly appreciate her work.
Congratulations, Ana, and thank you!View more recommendations
