About Jiyaa

I am a first year Cambridge Mechanical Engineering Student, graduated from City of London School for Girls with 4A* in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry A-level. I achieved all 9s/A* in my 11 GCSE subjects. I have topped my year group, achieving the school’s prestigious Maths award at graduation, along with many academic/engineering recognitions and awards for my extended work beyond the school curriculum in STEM. I also scored 99% in Maths GCSE and a 96% average across all other subjects. I have been commended by my teachers and peer group for my teaching skills, and being able to break down tricky concepts, which makes even the hardest of topics easy to understand and enjoyable. Tutoring since 2022, I have successfully placed my students in top independent and grammar schools in London, and currently tutor for 7+, 11+, KS3, GCSE and A-level Maths, Sciences and French.

About the lesson

Learning happens best one-on-one, or in small group sessions. My interactive, animated and personable approach to teaching makes every lesson engaging and uplifts my students' confidence in topics, which reflects in their performance at school. My focus is not only on covering the subject content, but to also develop concentration, good study habits and self-confidence throughout the students' time at school. I aim to make learning enjoyable where my pupils are encouraged to think outside of the box and try a variety of study methods and approaches to realise their full potential. I identify difficulties and weaknesses to help bridge the gaps and build strong foundation level understanding of the topics covered. Weekly 1 hour lessons per subject taken, conducted online via Microsoft Teams, which include interactive whiteboard sessions, allowing the students to maximise from the learning in real time. I have been tutoring throughout my time at secondary school and college, for 7+, 11+ and secondary school (KS3/4). I have successfully placed students in top independent and grammar schools in London such as Highgate, CLSG, Notting Hill & Ealing High and Queens. I provide education counselling and guidance to parents and students regarding choice of secondary school, along with subject options at GCSE and A-level. This helps students choose the optimum subjects that will pave the way for a successful university application to their chosen course and career path. Also provide advice for STEM (Engineering) opportunities available to young people to make their applications stand out. Specifically focused on valuable super curricular activities that Oxbridge are looking for. Experienced with Edexcel, OCR, Cambridge and AQA for A-level and GCSE courses
