About Tom
I am a confident A-Level Maths/Further Maths tutor and love helping people to achieve the top grades in these subjects. After achieving A*A*A in my A-Levels (Maths, Further Maths, Physics) I graduated with both a BA (Mechanical & Aerospace) and an MEng (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Cambridge in 2018. I spent a lot of time working in outreach/access at Cambridge and would be glad to help those looking to apply. I spent 2 years in industry (Medical Devices) before joining the Advanced Composites Research Group at Queen's University Belfast to pursue a PhD, also in Mechanical Engineering. Throughout all of my work and study I have needed a deep understanding of maths and have successfully tutored a number of students. My favourite is tutoring Further Maths!

Lessons are held online and are designed to be flexible and interactive to ensure you get the most out of them. I'm here to help you learn and master maths which means the sessions can be guided by what you'd like to focus on. Once we've nailed the syllabus, I think it's best to take it a step further by practising with more complex questions/examples. If you can build confidence & competence at a higher level then when it comes to sitting the exam the questions will be a lot more natural and comfortable.
