About Nicholas
I am a very enthusiastic tutor with several years' experience - I graduated from Cambridge in Philosophy with an excellent academic record, and have experience tutoring Maths, Philosophy, and the Sciences. I also have a CELTA and experience teaching English language to a range of ages. Past Tutoring Experience: I have experience tutoring 11+, A-level, Oxbridge interview preparation and University exam preparation. I began tutoring students of the University of Edinburgh in Logic, a paper that I received a starred first at Cambridge for, and helped them grow from a fail to a solid pass (increase of +50 marks). Since then, I have taught Maths, Biology and Chemistry A-level to several students, all with very positive results. I have also coached several students for their Oxbridge interview: student for his Philosophy and Physics interview for Balliol college, Oxford. His interview went well and he achieved his offer. I have taught creative writing classes to 11+ students preparing for their school entrance exams, and as a guitar player and songwriter in my spare time I have taught other basics in guitar performance, music theory and song composition. Finally, I have spent the last half a year training and then teaching English as a second language to classes of adult learners, and accepted a job offer to teach at a public school in South Korea. For this job I underwent an extensive training programme specialising on teaching students 11+. As a tutor, Nick is very patient and helped me build my confidence in Maths. His explanations were really clear and he also made the lessons fun and engaging!
After struggling to engage with theory, during my social sciences degree, Nick kindly gave me a handful of lessons to clear things up. The lessons were fantastic- Nick asked the right questions to help me form my own answers, as well as explaining concepts when I needed more information.
