Expert History & Art History Tuition with Hannah
University of Cambridge Graduate | Professional Researcher | SEN-Friendly

Hi, I’m Hannah! I am a professional historical researcher and a trained teacher with three years of classroom and online experience. Having attended the University of Cambridge as a mature student, I understand firsthand the dedication required for academic success at any stage of life.

I offer a warm, patient, and trusting environment for school-aged children and adult learners of all backgrounds.

My approach is rooted in making history feel alive, relevant, and accessible.

Academic Expertise & Research

My career as a professional researcher informs my teaching, allowing me to bring history to life with authentic detail.

Specialist Periods: Jacobean and Civil War history, political reform of the 18th and 19th century, the rise of 20th-century fascism, and Native American history.

Social History: I hold a strong interest in Social Georgian history and currently serve as the official historian for a Georgian townhouse in Hull.

Art History: I focus on fine-tuning analytical skills for primary sources, spanning from the Classical period through to the Renaissance.

Exam Preparation: I can prepare students according to specific exam board syllabuses (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, etc.)—simply let me know your required topics.

Tailored, Neurodivergent-Friendly Learning

Education should be accessible to everyone. Being dyslexic myself and trained in autism awareness and dyslexia-specific study skills, I am deeply aware of the adaptations students may require. I provide a supportive space where we work at your unique pace.

How We Work Together:

* Platform: All teaching is conducted via Google Classroom, where I provide summary notes and curated reading lists to support your learning.

* Lesson Structure: Standard lessons are 45 minutes. This format is designed for flexibility—allowing for a focused "power session" or a 15-minute break within a full hour to assist with processing and focus.

* Extended Learning: Double-length sessions are available for those who wish to dive deeper.

* First Session (Free): A 60-minute consultation to discuss your goals, subjects, and preferred learning style.

* Availability: I offer flexible scheduling to be mutually agreed upon, requiring just 48 hours' notice for bookings.

I welcome anyone with a willingness to learn. Let’s start uncovering the past together!
