About Alice

I have a deep passion for Sociology in both theory and practice. I just graduated from Cambridge University with a high 2:1 BA (Hons) degree in Sociology and Anthropology and have studied Sociology since GCSE and A Level. I am a hard working, dedicated and self-motivated person who is always willing to take new opportunities. I am most passionate about helping others and making a positive change in the world. I have around 2 years' experience tutoring, and always make sure my work is done to the highest standard.

A diverse range of previous tutees include; A Level Sociology (Year 12 and Year 13), KS1 phonics and literacy, KS1 English Literature, Year 11 GCSE History, KS2 SATs tutoring.

About the lesson

I pride myself on my adaptability, my communication skills with young people, and my ability to tailor lessons to the individual. I am very open and flexible to their requirements as a learner and your requirements as a parent.

I teach mainly through discussion, reading and presentation activities. I believe oral discussion is a fundamental aspect of learning, which allows the student to consolidate their knowledge and become more confident in articulating what they have learnt. Lessons would typically be one hour long but could be longer or shorter depending on preference. Lessons would typically be for students of any age - I have experience tutoring 5 year olds up to 16, in English Literature, Reading/Phonics, English Language, History (essay techniques), and SPAG/Verbal Reasoning. I can also teach Sociology at pre-GCSE, GCSE and A Level.
