About Romeo
My name is Romeo Liyan, and I am a finalist at the University of Cambridge studying History and Politics. I have a keen interest in foreign policy, hoping to explore a career in diplomacy. I achieved results at school that placed me at the top percentile in the country and have since excelled in Cambridge. I have studied a range of periods, and have now focused my final year studies on the Cold War, in particular its contemporary impacts on the East Asia region. I have a long track record of tuition in a broad range of subjects at GCSE, A-Level and undergraduate admissions levels. I take pride in the importance of discovering and fostering fundamental values that will make any academic endeavour and application strong. Each student has their own motivations, and part of playing the role of educator requires a keen understanding of the deeper mechanisms by which each student operates and to highlight and hone individual strengths. This is what worked for myself and other high-performing individuals, and I hope to extend this to anyone interested in seeking guidance and support from me.

I am a Cambridge trained History and Politics student with a complex understanding of what is required at a top academic level. I believe in medium to long term support for university admissions that help students develop key skills that underpin any successful interview, written statement and academic motivations. I am also able to give ad-hoc support in mock interviews upon request. I achieved 13 GCSEs, 10 of which were Grade 9s and received A*A*AA at A-Level. I ranked in the top 20% of my History cohort at Cambridge in my first year and am projected to achieve a high first in the top 90th percentile of my cohort in my final year. I have experience tutoring at a GCSE level in Spanish, and in Oxbridge admissions, often conducting mock interviews for both History and Politics. I received a nationally recognised tutoring certification as a result. I aim to take in students from any age range between GCSEs and A-Levels. With specific academic tutoring in mind, or Oxbridge admissions. Intentions: Weekly hour sessions for those who are willing to stretch beyond their school curriculum to acclimatise to the academic rigour of Oxbridge university life.
