About Agata
I graduated from the University of Cambridge several years ago, with a degree in pure math. I now work as a full-time math tutor, but I also occasionally do math research. I am very passionate about math, and I love talking about it with people, especially when I get to teach them things that I am very excited about. I want people to know that math is not about memorizing formulas or doing things by rote, but instead about understanding what you're doing, and why the rules work the way they do. I really care about teaching good math.

I always start by asking my student what he understands, and what he does not understand. That is very basic, but already makes a difference. But what really sets me apart from other math teachers is the way I explain how things are done. I take things super slowly, and make everything as clear as I can. I give lots of examples, and always focus on understanding and intuition first, instead of trying just to get through the problem as fast as possible.
