About Sam
I have been a UK maths trust mentor on the Olympiad Mentoring scheme (which I co-wrote) and have helped at training camps for selecting the UK maths team. Two of my mentees have gone on to attend UK maths team selection camps in Hungary and Cambridge. I can tutor students right from KS3 through A Level right to competing for selection for the UK maths team including preparing for BMO and STEP.

I feel it's important to emphasise understanding over wrote-learning of material. I will ensure that students understand why they're doing what they're doing which will help them to learn and be able to solve harder problems. Asking questions is very much encouraged.

Perfect! He is an excellent tutor. He understands ability of his tutee. He gives regular homework which is mix of right balance of challenging and consolidating questions. He is very helpful and responds to any queries even outside his lesson.
