About James
I am in my 3rd year studying physical natural sciences at the University of Cambridge, specializing in Physics and Materials Engineering.
At school I achieved 4 A*s at A-level (maths, further maths, physics, chemistry) including 600/600 UMS in my further maths papers, and 13 A*s at GCSE.
I also regularly took part in the UKMT maths challenges, regularly achieving gold and progressing through to the olympiad stage.

In my approach to learning I aim to thoroughly understand every topic right down to the basic principles, and still have my GCSE and A-level notes with in depth explanations of every method covered.
This has proved to be very effective in certain scenarios, for example when struggling to remember a certain formula - just understand the derivation, however I also take care not to over complicate the situation if it is not required.
My teaching methods have proved effective so far, helping many of the younger pupils from my school achieve A*s in GCSE and A level, and I hope I can be of use to you :)
