About Jamie
I'm eager to pass on my knowledge and advice to future students. I love seeing the moment when students 'get it' for the first time, and am eager to help boost both students' grades and confidence.
I'm currently studying Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, and have achieved 4A* in A levels in biology, chemistry, physics and maths.
I have achieved Gold awards in the UK Chemistry Olympiad (top 8%) and British Biology Olympiad (top 5%).

GCSE and A level chemistry are tough, with content that can be difficult to grasp. With 96% (grade 9) in GCSE chemistry and A* at A level, I understand how to deliver answers that will get full marks. I'll help students get a firm grasp of the subject content, and then put their knowledge into practice with past paper questions, helping students tailor their answers to hit all the marking points. I will adapt lessons to the individual needs of the student, working on their individual weak areas and turning those weak areas into their strengths.
I'm also happy to help pre-GCSE secondary school students, improving understanding and skills to lay a strong foundation for GCSE and beyond.
I can also assist with the Oxbridge admissions process, having been through this myself, and give advice on personal statements, admissions tests and give practice interviews. I have helped multiple friends through the process, giving them frequent practice interviews and lots of advice on personal statements.

Jamie has been a wonderful mentor, helping me achieve an offer for MBiol Biology at the University of Oxford. He gave me extensive, bespoke personal statement feedback, and provided me with several mock interviews which helped push me to my academic limits. The interviews especially were very helpful, as he helped me refine my verbal biological reasoning skills for my actual interviews - something that is hard to develop on your own. The problem-solving style of his questions with topics unfamiliar to A-level students was very similar to what I experienced in my actual interviews, and he gave very thorough comprehensive feedback after each session which helped me massively.
