About Joe
Hello! Looking for a hand with Science and/or Maths? Worried about university applications? Confused about the 2021 "exams"? Worry not!
My background is in Science. I studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge, and Science Communication at Sheffield, having achieved A*s in Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Biology at A-level.
I work in an Autism Specialist School, currently teaching Maths from functional skills up to AS-Level. I have also taught science as a cover teacher, and cut my teeth on online learning during school lockdowns.
As part of the maths team, I have a clear idea of what is required for this year's evidence in lieu of examinations. I can suggest work which can demonstrate a range of abilities, scaled by GCSE grade.
Besides all of this, I'm something of an online teaching nerd, having created my own interactive whiteboard and touch screen friendly bespoke resources designed to work with Google Suite, and allow students to work independently at their own pace.

You get to say what you need more or less of, what you would prefer to do independently, and what you'd rather learn in company.
I am always happy to adapt my resources to suit the individual, and I am used to scribing for students who have difficulty writing. I am used to teaching students with Autism, many of whom have PDA, and I know that these students need a very flexible, student-led approach, while other students thrive on a clear framework to work their way along.
